Baseboard Heating

How does baseboard heating work?

Baseboard heaters run off of electricity and do not require ductwork. They come in varying lengths in order to generate enough heat for different-sized rooms. They are often installed along the lower part of a wall. It is important to not obstruct a baseboard heating unit for fire safety. There are metal conductors within the baseboard heater that become hot as electricity passes through it. These heating elements warm the air around it, but a baseboard heater does not generate any airflow.

Why is baseboard heating important?

Baseboard heat is a great, inexpensive means of heating an area of your home that is without a heat source or has a poor heat source. Baseboard heating units utilize electricity to be powered and do not require ductwork. It is often a great heat resource for basements, garages, attics, and additions.
